Abstract The highest demand for snacks including peanuts is during sports games, which includes the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) basketball playoffs. Pete’s Peanuts Snacks, which is based in Albany, Georgia mainly distributes roasted (plain and salted peanuts) and new spicy flavored peanuts decided to release cinnamon flavored peanuts for the Final Four weekend. Marketing is very important in a product life cycle however the company needs to know in what area to market in. Manufacturing and Logistics When it comes to manufacturing, the company is right to manufacture a month before the playoffs since the manufacturer can only manufacture one million cans per week, and the estimated demand is 3 million for the final four weekend. Since the estimated demand is one million cans per week after the final four weekend, the manufacturer is able to manufacture the exact amount demanded. After the manufacturing is complete it is time to ship the peanuts to the retail stores in time for the release date, which is where the logistics department comes into play.
